Platform size 12-1/2 x 12-1/2

feeding dish top diameter 5" on the outside of lip dish is approximately 3-1/4 deep

House sparrows can get into anything a bluebird can as the sparrow is slightly smaller. I have not witnessed a starling going into my feeder, others will have to tell you about their experience. Diane

My guess would be yes, as it is an open style feeder. I have the hanging bluebird feeder, and just the other day starlings tried to get into the holes and they could not. I would recommend the hanging bluebird feeder if you have starling issues.
